Local Testimony 2023
Dear photographers,

We are happy to announce that the Local Testimony and World Press Photo exhibitions will open at Muza – Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv on December 5, 2023.

The photojournalism and documentary photography exhibition Local Testimony is shown every year alongside the international World Press Photo exhibition. The annual exhibition features the best work of Israeli, Palestinian, and foreign photographers working in our region, as selected by an independent jury and the exhibition curator.

The exhibition reflects the events of the past year, immortalizing human moments of cultural and social value in different areas of life.

This year’s curator is Anat Saragusti, journalist, photographer and documentarian.

FYI:

The Local Testimony website will open for uploading pictures on Sunday August 13, 2023, and will close at midnight on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Please prepare your photo portfolios, video clips and accompanying texts following the guidelines in the Instructing Guide on the website. It’s important to point out that we are living through a turbulent period. The number of photos that can be entered in the competition is limited. Please choose single photos and prepare the story told in photo series with care and attention. Take as much time as you need selecting photos, to contribute to a high-quality and fascinating exhibition.

Cash prizes for the winners:

Prizes to a total value of ₪40,000 will be awarded to the prize-winning photographers, as follows:
₪10,000 for Photo of the Year
₪10,000 for Series of the Year
₪10,000 as the ‘Shomrim Prize’
₪10,000 for Video of the Year

All participating photographers will receive a copy of the exhibition catalog and a certificate of participation
