Dear photographers,
For over twenty years, Local Testimony - the annual photojournalism and documentary photography exhibition, has featured the best work of the local photography community, selected by an independent jury and the exhibition curator, who are replaced every two years. The exhibition reflects the events of the past year and immortalizes human moments of cultural and social importance in different spheres of life. Since October 7, 2023, a war has been raging on multiple fronts, making its mark on local daily life and the visual expression of the human condition.
The Local Testimony 2025 exhibition will open on December 11 at MUZA, Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv, and will be displayed for a period of two months.
This year’s curator will be Ilia Yefimovich.
Yefimovich has been working as a photojournalist and documentarian for more than twenty years. He is the chief photographer of DPA, the German news agency, in Israel, and his photos appear on a daily basis in leading newspapers in Israel and abroad. His works have been displayed in international exhibitions, earning acclaim and winning artistic and journalistic awards. Yefimovich was one of the founders of the documentary photography magazine The Archive which was active in Israel and around the world from 2014–2017, and organized exhibitions, encounters with artists and lectures under its auspices.
Yefimovich’s extensive experience is sure to contribute to the creation of a meaningful exhibition in this challenging period.
The exhibition website will be open for uploading photos for the contest from 13.8.2025 until midnight on 31.8.2025.
This year there will be changes in submission procedures. We will provide ongoing updates on various developments in the coming weeks.
