Omri Sharon was born to Ariel and Lily Sharon in 1964. From July 1999 to February 2000 he served as campaign manager for his father, Ariel Sharon, for head of the Likud Party. In January 2003 Omri Sharon ran for Israel’s 16th Knesset as part of the Likud list. With the Likud’s overwhelming victory he became a Member of Knesset. In 2005 Sharon served on several Knesset committees and as chairman of the Knesset’s environmental lobby. Omri Sharon was considered one of his father’s close and influential advisers. On 28 August 2005 an indictment was served against Omri Sharon for false registration of corporate documents, swearing a false oath, breach of confidence in a corporation, and violating the Law of Party Financing. These accusations concern the period when he was his father’s campaign manager in the Likud.
