The residents had to cope with the murderous attack on their own, when no help appeared. By the time the armed forces finally arrived, at midday, the last attackers had already left Nir Oz. Natalie Madmon, whose mother Ofelia Roitman had been abducted to Gaza and was later released in the hostage deal, stuck stickers on the mailboxes of the victims of murder or abduction.
